Where did the decision to suspend classes at University of Business in Wrocław come from?
Measures have been taken to eliminate the possibility of spreading the virus among members of the academic community of the University of Business in Wroclaw.
For how long the suspension of classes and other activities is planned?
At the moment, the Rector's Ordinance is valid until April 14, 2020.
How do university offices operate during this period?
The University will be open only from 10.00 to 14.00 from Monday to Friday, until further notice.
Bursar's Office/ Student Financial Service: will be on duty from 10:00 - 14:00 on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Email contact is preferred, replies will be given on an ongoing basis on duty days.
Recruitment Office: will be on duty from Monday to Friday from 10:00-14:00. However, we encourage you to contact us by email or phone between 8:00-16:00:

How to get the certificate?
(also the certificate of payment the tuition fees)? The request for issuing the certificate must be sent by e-mail to email@example.com with an explanation for what purpose it is necessary. When the certificate is prepared, the dean's office will inform you via email about the possibility to pick it up. For certificates of fees, please send an email with this information to: firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com and clearly indicate whether the certificate should be received personally or scanned document can be sent. You will be able to receive the certificate in the above mantioned days and hours only after receiving the reply e-mail confirming that such a certificate is ready to be picked up.
Are all the classes for full-time, part-time students and post-graduate students that were to take place at the University canceled?
Yes. All that were to take place at the University are canceled.
Does the appeal also apply to student internships?
The decision lies within the responsibility of the employer, where the student undergoes the internship. However, according to the World Health Organization, the Government of our country and the Chief Inspector in this situation it is recommended to work remotely when possible and to limit the work at workplaces.
What about sport lessons?
All sport lessons are canceled.
Will diploma exams in the re-set dates of the winter semester 2019/2020 (scheduled for March) take place as planned?
Diploma exams scheduled for March have been suspended until further notice. We will inform you individually about the date when they will take place.
Will administrative staff be available for students (including foreign ones) and teaching staff?
Yes. Students, in the first place, please contact us by email or phone.
Will the dean's office be open to students?
The dean's office will be open from Monday to Friday between 10:00 and 14:00. At the same time, please keep the principle of limited direct contacts and previous phone or e-mail contact with the dean's office to settle the matter
Is there any additional information for foreign students?
In accordance with the Rector's ordinance on preventing the spread of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus among the academic community, we recommend foreign students studying at our university not to leave Poland and not to go to their home countries. The decision to return home may lead to a 2-week quarantine in your home country. If you return to Poland, another 2- week quarantine will also be obligatory, which may prevent you from completing your semester.
What about student IDs that are valid until the end of March?
The Ministry of Science and Higher Education has decided to extend the validity period of the ID card from March 31, 2020 to May 31, 2020.
What about signing up for (choosing) Supervisors of diploma work?
In matters of choosing a Supervisor, please contact the Dean's Office via email.
Is the library open?
The library provides services to students remotely using e-books.
We remind you about the possibility of using the electronic collections of our Library, located on the IBUK LIBRA platform: https://libra.ibuk.pl. If anyone of you does not have access to these collections, please write to the e-mail address: Biblioteka@handlowa.eu in order to obtain a PIN code.
We offer remote substantive assistance in the selection of relevant literature from the available electronic publications, +48 71 333 11 10 (please call in hours. 10.00-14.00)
On request, we will also send available electronic publications in PDF files to your email address.
On request, we will provide a login and password for databases of scientific publications available under the license of the Virtual Library of Science, so that they can be used outside the University premises.
Please also note that all overdue fees charged after March 12, 2020 will be automatically cancelled.
If the library is closed, will there be fines for keeping books overdue if they cannot be returned?
No additional overdue fees will be charged.
Is the date of suspension of classes given in the Rector's Ordinance considered to be final, or is it possible that classes will be cancelled for longer or reset earlier?
The deadline given in the Rector's ordinance is based on the situation of the epidemiological threat in our country and depends on it.
Will the academic year be extended?
No extension of the academic year is planned. There will be no problems with completing the semester by the specified date.
How will the classes take place?
Selected classes will be conducted remotely. Suspension of classes does not mean a break in studying, but only a change in its form. Lecturers will inform you how and when you will be taking classes.
Should we catch up the classes that are missed?
Classes that are not currently held will be made up remotely. Other classes will be conducted if the situation allows. Students will be informed about the methods and dates of doing the unconducted classes.
Do the dates of the exam session remain unchanged?
At the moment, the dates of the exam session remain unchanged. We assume that the academic year will follow the current organization of the academic year.
What about students' trips and internships under the Erasmus + programme?
According to Rector's Ordinance No. 35/2019/2020, all student and staff trips are suspended.
Will there be payments for studies?
We do not expect refunds of tuition fees or any discounts, as the classes will be conducted in a remote system.
How and by when should I submit a scholarship application?
The deadline for submitting applications has been extended until 21/03/2020. Applications can be sent in pdf version (scan of the completed application) to the following address: firstname.lastname@example.org
Will the classes take place remotely?
Yes, starting from 23/03/2020, classes are held remotely according to real-time class schedules, both full-time and part-time, postgraduate and MBA studies.
Will the suspension of classes affect the payment of wages for employees of University of Business in Wroclaw ?
From 23/03/2020, classes will be conducted remotely. If the classes are actually conducted, it does not affect the payment of employees' wages.
Whatabout classes that have been suspended from March 12 till March 20, 2020?
After the Dean's decision, the information about catch-up classes will be forwarded to both teachers and students.
